The other day we discussed how to buy recharge card via SMS using GTB Mastercard. Well there is more you can do. You can now send money to any bank account via SMS. This is cool right? But wait.... After reading this please start hiding your Mastercard. You want to know why? Read Reasons you should not give your ATM card to Anybody.
So back to the matter. With GT Bank Mastercard you can now send money to any account at any time for free. All you need is your phone.
How it Works
1. Pick up your phone and Mastercard.
2 (a) . If you are sending the money to a Gt BANK account dial *737*1*AMOUNT*ACCOUNT NUMBER# (Eg, *737*1*2000*0145*******3#) then press the SEND button.
2 (b). If you are sending the money to another bank account other than GT Bank then the correct code will be *737*2*AMOUNT*ACCOUNT NUMBER#
3. You will be asked to select the bank you want to send money to (you won't see this step if you are sending the money to GTB account).
4. You will be asked to confirm your transfer (the name of the account you are sending to will be automatically generated for your verification). Do so and press SEND button.
5. Finally you will be asked to enter the last 4 digits on your card number. Do so and then press the SEND button.
You'll get a notification that your transfer was successful if all goes well and account will be debited immediately.
