The west African examination council as release the full result of one million, five hundred and forty three thousand, six hundred and eighty three(1,543,683) students who participate in the May/June 2013 secondary school Examination(SSCE). The result was announced by the head of National office (HNO) of WAEC, Dr Charles Eguridu when he addressed a news conference in Lagos on Wednesday. He said
91.38percent (1,543,683) of 1,689, 188 candidate who registered for the examination as been fully released.
The result release by WAEC for 2013 shows that 889,636 candidates obtained six credit and above. The HNO also said that 8,62percent(145,505) of the result were under processing due to some errors from the students(candidates) and their schools in the course of registration or writing the examination, this errors were being corrected by the council to enable the affected candidates to get their result fully processed.
The HNO for WAEC also said 2,176 candidates result were being cancelled as a result of multiple entries by the candidates while 112,865 results of candidates were withheld due to examination malpractice.
The candidate can now check the result online from the WAEC website within 24 hours of the release of the result i.e starting from today 8th of august 2013.
